This week I ventured over to the quieter side of St John, Coral Bay to meet and capture Rani Keohane and her right-hand gal Sarah Swan while they were in bikini-making-action. Rani's story of bikini making began back in her boat crewing days. Hoisting sails and dropping anchor is no fun while wearing a poorly fit swim suit. She began altering the ones she had, and that sparked her inspiration to start from scratch and make her own.

Years later, Rani is still the island girl living in her swim suit, but now has her own fabulous shop where you can try and buy her gorgeous handmade suits. The store doubles as her sewing studio space where she makes small batches of custom color combinations and sizes, for all kinds of beach bodies. When Rani is not at the beach, or sewing, she is traveling the world in search of beautiful unique fabrics alive with color and pattern.
